I have composed a short poem in your honor. Please picture me in a fancy outfit and with one of those little berets with a huge feather on it on my head as you read. ;)

Laughter

Laughter is what Audrey brings

When we sing silly songs

When we mishear one another and we laugh until we cry

Laughter is what brings us joy

Laughter is what Madelyn brings

When we tell funny jokes

When we tell stories 

About the silliness of our day

Laughter is what Belinda brings

When we joke around

And pass around a sticky note with doodles

Of Audrey as a porcupine and me as a walrus

Laughter is what Kailani brings

When we laugh at people dancing

Behind the bleachers in a gym… in West Side Story

Laughter is what happens when we hear a new laugh

And we all join in

*

Laughter is what Karinka brings

When we laugh during rehearsals

When we joke around or share a funny good thing

*

Laughter is what brings us together

It is what makes us friends

Laughter is what people hear when they walk past a classroom with us in it

And they know the friendship we share

And then they smile too

And that’s what makes it worth it
