Evaluate the extenuate to which environmental impacts of urbanization on biodiversity and ecosystem services.
Urbanization severely impacts environments and the living things in the environment by multiple factors like habitat loss, fragmentation, pollution, and biodiversity loss. This leads to the decline in the number of both native species and invasive species. Urbanization also depletes the environment of its natural systems like the water flow, soil condition, and climate regulation. Urban expansions also increase risks to endangered species, raising threats and the risk of habitat edge effects. Larger and faster urban planning and building leads to more negative consequences to both environmental and biodiversity services.
