Time's grim stare pierces my pleading soul.
Its grasp is unwavering, I cannot be free.
I see no bias or malice in its gaze,
Only a duty to carry me with it.
Until my end comes, and I leave forever.
But I fear where it will take me,
And how I can't stop it.
Like a helpless kitten, blind and deaf,
Searching for independence.
If only I were still that young.
So take me away, Peter Pan,
On your hidden wings of childhood joy.
Steal me away in the night
And lead me to that second star,
So that I might never grow old again.
Take me in as one of your own,
Where jobs are not needed,
And money is not used,
And cars are not driven.
Where worries don't touch young hearts,
And age doesn't sour young complexions.
