One major technology created by the silk road was the caravanserai. Due to this technology traders were able to travel more designated routes and were able to rest at designated rest stops that were more safe than just sleeping on the trade routes. This helped grow the economy of many asian and eastasian empires during the time 600-1450 CE.
One way the silk road facilitated trade was through the major trade cities. Through these trade cities the culture of many different areas and regions were able to exchange ideals such as Zoroastrianism. This certain ideal was a mix of all the abrahamic religions which shows the significance of trade cities throughout the major trade cities of Samarkand and Kahgar.
One impact the silk road had on neighboring cities along the trade routes was the diffusion of crops from all areas along the sing road. During the Silk road two major cities were developed such as Kashgar and Samarkand. These 2 cities along the trade routes had very prosperous economies due to the increase of trade and cultural diffusion in the areas.These major cities influenced local economies by having 2 main markets along the trade route that led these local economies to increase in value.
