1. Empathy Comes Naturally to You
You understand everyone you come in contact with. No one puzzles you, and you can figure out exactly what everyone else is feeling. You are practically a mind reader! Your friends’ emotional life is no enigma, and you can immediately tell when something is off with their life. You can sense what others are feeling without even knowing them. You and your significant other are always on the same page and rarely fight, and if you do fight, you completely understand where they come from and resolve all of your problems quickly. You connect with everyone on another level and never struggle when meeting strangers.
If you are super empathetic, then you do not need to read books.
2. Your Vocabulary Astounds Everyone You Meet
You are the smartest person in the room, and everyone looks to you for new words. You are the Einstein of words. Communication is never a problem, and everything you describe comes across in a polite, clear, concise way that everyone understands. Your writing is always impeccable and has no chance to improve. Are you defining a strong tone and mood? No problem for you. Your reading comprehension score is through the roof! Every text you read makes perfect sense, and there is no text too confusing for you. Want to learn a new language? Easy! With such a rich vocabulary, mastering a new language will be no problem.
If you are an efficient communicator and do not need to expand your already extensive vocabulary, then you do not need to read books.
3. You’re as Healthy as Healthy Can Get
Your blood pressure is at its perfect level, and when you have a stressful day, you are still calm. Your heart rate is as calm as a lake in the middle of the summer. You maintain extremely low stress levels, and you never feel like your blood is boiling. When you go to sleep at night, you enter your bedroom and are out. You get at least 8+ hours of sleep and never feel tired. You wake up with a charged brain every morning, and you don’t even need coffee to get through the day. Also, you never feel depressed. You are happy all of the time, and everything in your life has a positive aspect. One of the most joyful people ever depicted, Chris Traeger (from Parks and Rec), has nothing on you.
If your heart and mental health are in flawless condition and the epitome of health, then you don’t need to read books.
If you check all of the above, congratulations! You are pretty much a perfect human being who should win awards for your success. Otherwise, you may want to try reading sometime. It is enjoyable, and you can escape into the wonderful worlds in your imagination. You will become healthier, sleep easier, become more empathetic, and your wide range of vocabulary will impress almost everyone you meet. Try reading a fiction book sometime, and see the difference it makes.
Regarding the article 3 Reasons...It really set me up for the final surprising paragraph. It certainly tells most of us to keep reading. Well done.
To quote Thomas Jefferson, “I cannot live without books...” This argument piece reinforces just that.
The satire in this is amazing
