laughter

surrounding her

to join her peers

to feel the joy shared by them

but

sadly she never will truly be one of them

Envy

Interaction

fear

joy

without

anger

love

without

Resentment

trust

without

lies

Desire

without

judgment

for quiet

her headphones cried for her

wanting her to block out the

loud,

demanding,

voices that yelled and criticized her every action

music was her only escape

an escape from her cinderella like life

to be a bird

for the unjust treatment to end

to not be alone while surrounded by others

they almost never noticed

she kept it subtle and repressed

not wanting to burden others

for the discord to stop

home was barely an escape

and when it was

it never lasted long

she lived like a bear

alone

secluded

she enjoyed the seclusion

to enjoy the mirror

go anywhere freewheeling

without small, loud thoughts

nipping at her brain

wearing a cap and gown

finally able to leave

be truly on her own

away from the madness
