A World of Disorder, a World of Grace

Téa Sunahara

High School Freshman

A world of disorder, a world of pain,

Where chaos reigns supreme,

No rhyme, no reason, just constant strife,

A never-ending, harrowing dream.

Where the strong prey upon the weak,

And the helpless are left to suffer,

Where justice is just an illusion,

And hope is but a fleeting buffer.

A world of disorder, where hate runs deep,

And love is a distant memory,

Where kindness is seen as a weakness,

And power is the only remedy.

Where the earth is ravaged, and nature weeps,

And the future seems bleak and grim,

Where greed and self-interest rule,

And the light of hope grows dim.

But in this world of disorder,

There are still pockets of light,

Where kindness, love, and compassion,

Help to push back against the night.

And though the chaos may seem overwhelming,

And the darkness may seem all-encompassing,

We must never lose sight of our humanity,

And continue to strive for a world worth living.

A world of beauty and grace,

Where people come together to make a better place,

Kindness and compassion, our guiding light,

Helping each other to reach new heights.

We work together to make things right,

Justice and equality, our constant fight,

No one left behind, we all have a place,

In this society of love and grace.

We cherish our planet, and all that it gives,

Protecting our earth, so that all life may live,

Nature and humanity, in perfect harmony,

Our love for each other, the only economy.

But sometimes we falter, and lose our way,

We forget our values, and start to betray,

Our fellow friends, and our planet too,

And in that moment, we lose what is true.

Yet even then, hope remains,

For we can always learn from our mistakes,

And come together once again,

To build a better society, free from pain.
