A penny on the floor,
One useless penny on the ground;
covered in dirt and grime.
soon be stepped on,
by any passersby who walks past something so,
unfortunately beautiful.
It’s just one cent,
out of the hundred that make a dollar;
It's one
extra
cent
that will eventually add up to the many
dollars to come,
forget the dirt;
it was always meant for something
bigger than itself.
